Triglycerides 2 €
A one-time blood collection fee of 5 € is added to the price.
Triglycerides (fS-Trig) are an important source of energy in human body. The body makes triglycerides from edible fat. They are also synthesized by the liver and fat tissue. In case of the excessive level of triglycerides circulating in the bloodstream, some are stored in fat cells for use at later time. Increased levels of triglycerides and LDL-cholesterol in blood lead to atherosclerotic changes in medium- and large-sized arteries, restricting the blood flow to various organs. The level of triglycerides in blood may increase in case of diabetes, underactive thyroid, alcoholism, pancreatitis, or chronic liver or renal diseases.
Since the result of the test is directly affected by food intake, it is important to refrain from eating and drinking 10-14 hours before giving blood.
