Mother to be sexually transmitted diseases panel 70 €
Untreated sexually transmitted diseases can cause infertility. An active infection during pregnancy can cause damage to the foetus or the newborn. These unpleasant consequences can be avoided by the detection and timely treatment of sexually transmitted diseases before pregnancy. The Mother to be panel for detecting sexually transmitted diseases in women is an addition to the Mother to be panel for women.
The sexually transmitted diseases included in the panel have been selected by laboratory specialists and gynaecologists because they are the most common ones and can lead to cervicitis, urethritis (inflammation of the urethra) and other genital tract infections. In about 80% of cases, the most common sexually transmitted diseases occur without symptoms – a person does not know that he or she is infected and could spread the disease to others.
If a sexually transmitted disease has been detected, you should immediately seek medical advice and appropriate treatment.
The preconception panel for detecting sexually transmitted diseases in women includes 4 tests. Instructions on collecting a vaginal swab can be found here. The swab needed for collecting the sample is included in the price and can be obtained from the nearest SYNLAB sample collection point.
The panel includes 4 vaginal tests:
- Chlamydia trachomatis DNA
- Neisseria gonorrhoeae DNA
- Mycoplasma genitalium DNA
- Trichomonas vaginalis DNA
