Insect venom panel 46 €

Enables to detect the tendency of the body to produce antibodies to wasp and bee venom.

If the diameter of the swollen area after a sting is > 10 cm and lasts for 24 – 48 hours, an insect venom allergy may be suspected.

The blood test should be given at the earliest possibility, during 1 – 6 weeks after the sting. About 8 months after the sting, an allergy to wasp and bee venom cannot be detected any more.

The panel includes tests of the IgE antibodies to the component proteins in the venom:

  • Bee venom component Api m1 IgE (rApi m1 IgE – mesilase mürgi koostisesse kuuluva valgu fosfolipaas A2 vastane IgE)
  • Wasp venom component Ves v5 IgE (rVes v5 IgE – herilase mürgi koostisesse kuuluva valgu antigeen 5 vastane IgE)
  • Wasp venom component Ves v1 IgE (rVes v1 IgE – herilase mürgi koostisesse kuuluva valgu fosfolipaas A1 vastane IgE)
The results are available within 3 working days.
