CORONAVIRUS TESTS AND CERTIFICATES

Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 causes a lung disease known as COVID-19. The main symptoms caused by the coronavirus are fever, cough and difficulty breathing that appear in most cases within 14 days after exposure. Not all infected people develop symptoms. The infected people who are asymptomatic pose a great risk as they can spread the disease without knowing it. Coronavirus infection is particularly dangerous for older adults and those with chronic medical conditions because their immune system is weakened and may not respond to the disease as well as that of the average healthy person.
It is known that the coronavirus is transmitted in four ways: through respiratory droplets, via infected surfaces, faecal-oral transmission and/or aerosols.

Coronavirus tests in SYNLAB:

Coronavirus detection

The presence of virus is analyzed by a reliable PCR method. A sample is taken according to request either from the pharyngeal washings or nasopharynx. In order to ensure smooth sampling with children, we recommend practicing throat gargling at home for 10 seconds before giving the sample.
